Wars are obnoxious when initially heard.But when essential we have to forget everything.

When more than two countries are fighting. Two countries are already enemies, but third can be either with them or against any one.In such circumstances if war is going on then two countries are fighting is clear but third can only be cleared when it goes against anyone. Here, third country can be either neutral or can be kept for peace.Also it can be just for economical purposes, to make profit from both sides.
This is not understood because position of such countries is so confusing that they have to do what is required in a government.In such case they are not going beyond the rules.when fight is continuing one country is using direct attack while other uses guerrilla technique. So result depends on the power and intelligence. Here third country also plays the role.It can also help either side for personal gains.
But how?
They can help in secert ways or directly.Also can help in providing the raw material of warfare.Can provide secert of the rival countries.
Direct help can make the opposite country aware about the enemity. So it can result in loss of favour from that country.
When the two countries are fighting and third indulges against one country then war can go for quite a long period.But can also end if any of the side surrenders.But while continuing if single one asks for help from other countries.
Here the others have to think about it because they must have some reasons for any indulgence.Must have friendship or any ideological beliefs or any economical benefits or some other reasons.
Now the war goes tough because now both sides are almost equally powerful.
Now what?
Here war can also continue as well as come to an end. As fighting sides can become aware that no result is going to come and only destruction is going to happen.
So war can end here.
